Welcome!

This is a blog about a boy and girl who fell in love. Now that they are married, they are learning how to live and love in a whole new way. The blogs written are meant to help, encourage, inspire and spread knowledge of their journey to anyone who wants to listen, even if it's just reminders for themselves.

Christmas Memories 2010

I am so excited to try to start and keep track of Jason and my memories together! I've been wanting to do this for a while but everyday when I sit down to start a post/journal, what have you, it doesn't happen. I've probably lost multiple memories because of it. No idea, because I can't remember.

This christmas, God has totally blessed us! We got more than enough of what we wanted and way more than what we needed. I couldn't believe everything. Throughout the holiday season, I tried to make my own gifts. Martha Stewart was my inspiration. Time got away from me though, and I didn't create as many gifts as I wanted. Luckily, I got a nanny position to try to make ends meet. My main goal for the job was to buy Jason an Xbox 360. He has been begging me for one way before we were married. I figured it was time to make his wishes come true :) I think it was a bigger blessing to me because I got to scheme and plan to surprise him so much that I forgot that I was going to get presents too. I loved seeing his face as he opened it. It was absolutely priceless.
It came with the new Kinect, which makes you, the player, the controller. Not only is it a blast, but also a WORKOUT! My legs have been a wee bit sore. Not a bad thing.
One of the best memories about this game system that surprised me was when J and I would stay up late as he taught me how to play Call of Duty. We ate chips, popcorn, reese's snacks, and pop (something I rarely drink). I felt like one of the guys. We would laugh so hard when Jason would drive this little devil car after me to try to blow my character up. I don't think I would do well in a real battle....

All in all, I learned that to make my own gifts for christmas, I need to start making gifts in March. And that to give a present with your whole heart is better than getting a gift. You get to show the other person how much you care (or in some cases, don't care..) Who could put a price on that?
